The truth, though, is that our homes in Tulsa need just as much attention in the fall to prepare for winter as they need cleaned in the spring – especially your home’s roof. If you have trees on your property near your home that overhang your roof, you should do some trimming. We don’t need to sing the line, “Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain” to remind us of how serious the wind can be here – and wind and overlying tree branches can cause major damage to your roof. Branches that rest on or right above your roof can also dump excess water and moisture on your shingles, making them more vulnerable to damage in those areas. Worst case scenario: branches can put a big hole in your roof. Best course of action: trim those tree branches.
